France heatwave overwhelms hospitals and forces Pride march delay

Emergency doctors at one of Paris's biggest hospitals warned on Friday that wards had become dangerously overcrowded after a week of soaring temperatures, as authorities restricted public alcohol consumption, organisers postponed the annual Pride march and €130 million was pledged to help schools adapt to climate change.
