Holiday events across the Haitian Diaspora: December 2025 to Jan. 1, 2026

As Haitians everywhere close out the year and prepare for Independence Day on January 1, communities across the Diaspora are gathering for concerts, markets and cultural workshops. From Brooklyn to Miami to Washington, D.C., these events offer a chance to support Haitian vendors, celebrate traditions and connect with neighbors in the spirit of the season. Here’s a curated roundup of holiday happenings for December 2025 through Jan. 1, 2026.

Bazaar Kreyol Holiday Market

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Haiti Cultural Exchange
Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 — noon–8 p.m.
The annual Bazaar Kreyol, organized by Haiti Cultural Exchange, brings together Haitian and Haitian diaspora vendors for a one-day holiday market featuring handmade crafts, fashion, body care, and more. This is set up as a festive shopping day where folks can support Haitian small businesses before the holidays.

Caribbean Christmas Cookout

A late-night Caribbean Christmas lime featuring DJs, Caribbean food and drinks and island sounds. Haitians and other Caribbean communities gather for a festive, Diaspora-heavy holiday party.

Jollof, Soup Joumou, Jerk: Taste of Africa & Holiday Market at Flatbush

Brooklyn, N.Y. — Anna Tonel (Flatbush)
Dec. 20–21, 2025 — starts 11 a.m.
This African Restaurant Week holiday market centers on pan-African and Caribbean food and vendors, explicitly featuring soupjoumou alongside jollof and jerk. The two-day event includes shopping, DJs, and a focus on celebrating the season while supporting local artisans.

Sounds of Little Haiti: End-of-Year Edition

Miami, Fla. — Little Haiti Cultural Complex

SOSL Christmas Party 2025: Fundraiser for Laschaboas, Haiti

A high-profile Year’s and Haitian Independence Day event built around the tradition of soup joumou. The evening features live music. Haitian artists, as well, DJs, and a formal all-white dress code, with soup joumou served as a symbol of liberation and Haitian pride.
