Women in France's local elections

Even before the final outcome of France's municipal elections, we already know that half of the councillors will be women, after a 2025 law imposed gender-balanced lists in every one of the country's nearly 35,000 communes. Julia Mouzon, founder of the Elues Locales network that supports and promotes women in politics, says it's a big collective achievement.
